01 / The context

What needed to change

A food-service business needed to coordinate sales, ingredients, orders, and access across locations without relying on fragmented spreadsheets or a constant internet connection.

Working within real constraints

The system needed to support busy counters, multiple locations, and unreliable connectivity. Each role needed access appropriate to its work.

02 / The work

What I built

  • Built an offline-capable POS with automatic synchronization when connectivity returns.
  • Connected product recipes to ingredient deductions and stock movement.
  • Added branch-scoped access, order history, payment verification, and configurable roles.

03 / Delivered capabilities

What the system enables

  • Sales can continue during internet outages.
  • Recipe-based stock deduction replaces manual updates.
  • Staff and managers share a traceable order and inventory workflow.

Tools & technologies

  • SvelteKit
  • TypeScript
  • Hono
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • D1
  • IndexedDB / Dexie
Technical implementation

Designed and built end to end, with local IndexedDB storage for offline sales and a Cloudflare Workers/D1 backend. The platform also includes internal communication, audit history, and more than 30 configurable permissions.
